A Step Ahead: The Female Professional’s Guide to Becoming Ineffable in Business
Coming Fall 2018 from Little River Publications
As a woman at the highest levels of the corporate ladder, Chris A. Petersen has seen it all, and she knows the keys to surviving and thriving in a male-dominated work environment. Chris’ goal is to show all young women the path to get there, without all of the rocky cliffs she has had to climb.
She believes that all women should become ineffable by making sure to have two of the three EFF’s, or to get the “EFF” out of situations that won’t strengthen their future. This is what makes up the beginning of Chris’s irreverent, fun, practical guide to business.
As an acclaimed public speaker, Chris not only entertains with her storytelling approach; she provides real, actionable strategies. From her story about being invited onto the boss’ yacht, to her stories about the backside of corporate culture, this is a book that will truly draw attention.
Christine Petersen is a technology strategist who has worked with all sizes of financial institutions, from small & entrepreneurial to global player. She is now a speaker, trainer, and high-level consultant, devoted to helping thought leaders and companies get faster, grow smarter, and drive success in a high-speed, high-impact modern environment. Her direct, honest approach over the past three decades in the financial industry led her quickly to management positions, and eventually to 18 years of strategic work in the C-Suite (responsible for billions in revenue in her role at FIS), before she made a life and career decision to begin her own consulting practice.
Christine Petersen currently consults through the firm i7strategies, which is operated by David L. Peterson, the original Founder of Goldleaf Technologies, Inc., one of the first companies to establish electronic banking and payment systems for commercial banks. Until late 2015, Petersen worked in Executive Client Management for financial giant FIS, and before that, as the Vice President of Sales for Certegy, Inc. (which was acquired by FIS in December 2005), where she managed sales and marketing efforts for all products sold to North America.
As one of very few women in a Bachelor’s degree program for Management Information Systems at the University of South Florida (Class of 1984), Petersen went on to break through the glass ceiling early in her career, landing a managerial position at Unisys Corporation, then Legend Technologies (Treev), next Harland Clarke (previously MPI), and then Goldleaf Technologies, Inc. She has been called a pioneer in the world of financial technology, and this is no stretch of the imagination. She has had her finger on the pulse of the industry for 32 years, and is still on the cutting edge of finance and technology.
Artfully weaving her strategic thinking info a story-based approach with a bit of well-placed humor, Petersen is a hard-hitting keynote speaker who has spoken in front of countless audiences on financial topics and technology strategies. Her topics range from generational issues in banking to strategic thinking, and from women in business to technology adoption strategies. She also provides executive-level coaching, and corporate training.
